Ice Speed Skating Ovals and Clubs in Canada

Anneaux de glace et clubs de patin vitèsse au Canada

Digging out the Fort Saint John oval...

All ice speed skating ovals in Canada, except for Calgary and Quebec City (Ste-Foy), are natural ice ovals, and only Calgary is covered. The oval being constructed in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympic games will, of course, be covered artificial ice. Ice in dates listed are approximate and can vary from year to year depending on weather (for natural ice), budgets and events. Ovals not made on a regular basis are in the Misc page.

The menu on the left is organized east to west by province, then alphabetically within the province.

Clicking on the thumbnail photos within this website will generally display a larger version.

Note that most clubs in Canada primarily skate short track, with perhaps only the Calgary clubs as the exception. But even there, many of the very young skaters start on the short track. Nevertheless, this is primarily a long track (and marathon) website!
