BlackBerry OS 7 – Creating a New Sound Profile (9900, 9930, etc.)

I often get asked how to set the sounds on a BlackBerry for our apps, such as our Timer/Stopwatch or Preset Timer. In a previous post, I described how to modify your sound profile in OS 7, which is similar to OS 6 as far as sound profiles.  In this post, I’ll describe how to create your own sound profile.

Here’s an example using OS 7 on a 9930. I’ll create a new sound profile called “No Phone” where the phone sounds are off, but the Vorino Timer sounds are enabled. This profile would be handy for meditation.

First, click on the small speaker icon in your home screen. You can instead click the larger speaker icon with your apps.

Editing a sound profile on BlackBerry OS 7 (9900, 9930, etc.)

I often get asked how to set the sounds on a BlackBerry for our apps, such as our Timer/Stopwatch or Preset Timer. This can changes depending on the OS version, and to some extent the theme, but OS 6 and OS 7 are similar. Here’s an example using OS 7 on a 9930:

First, click on the small speaker icon in your home screen. You can instead click the larger speaker icon with your apps. In this example, we’re editing the Normal profile, which is the currently selected profile.
